Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend my sister came into town and we got to have some fun with the girls as usual. It's fun with them getting older now playing together. They had fun switching pushing each other in this car. Then of course had to go eat at Waterstreet and for some reason they had a blast yanking on the fence out in front. And we took them to the beach for the first time. Lena had a freaking fantastic time. Outside and water is an amazing combo for her. She would laugh everytime a wave would hit her and she never was scared to keep going out into the water. She was like the energizer bunny!!! She's just chillin in the back of the burb getting a snack and some juice trying to rehydrate while at the beach. I had to put this pic cause of the shirt she's wearing. It says "My mom is hot". Her Aunt Amanda got her this shirt...nuf said.

Can't wait to go to the beach again...

Easter

Easter weekend we went camping in Junction at South Llano River State Park. It was a great weekend with my family. It was our first time to stay in a tent with Lena and she had a blast being outside the whole time. The tent was awesome, but it was a little too cold at night. One night we were told it got down to 29 degrees, we even had a heater in the tent and it still was way too cold. Oh well, we still got to spend some much needed good quality family time together with no distractions!
Taylor got this wagon for her birthday and was kind enough to share with her cousin. They loved it! There were so many flowers everywhere, couldn't pass them up

Lena's 10 months

Well, Lena's 10 months now and WOW how she has grown. She started walking and definitely has a fun loving personality that makes us laugh. She has two teeth on the bottom and two coming in on the top, but the ones on the top are not in the middle, they are like fangs. I guess I watched too many vampire shows and movies...

And most of the time she carries her purse around the house... already gotta have the accessories... oh poor Daddy, he don't know what he is getting himself into.. HEHE

Today was such a fantastic day to pass up being outside. So we took Lena outside to play in the grass for her first time. Here's V and Lena enyoing the beautiful day.

She pushed this car up and down the sidewalk... a good way to wear her out!

She didn't know what to do in the grass at first, it was so funny, but she finally got brave enough to walk and crawl around in it. Looking forward to many more days like this, only if the weather would be more cooperative...

For Thanksgiving we went to Victoria and had a wonderful time, eating a fabulous meal and also got to sneak in a movie..."New Moon" of course. Also, Lena started pulling up on things. I think she was watching Grady and figured she could do it too. Here they both are standing up using the ottoman.I always like these moments when they look at each other and have this look like "Who are you?"They definitely like the same things, not their toys of course, but DVD cases...go figure!!Here's Grady, such a handsome little boy!!!

Vicente Turned 30

On November 8 Vicente turned 30...What???...Crazy!!! I am not too far behind though... We had a grand ole time with some of his friends from work playing poker and eating enchiladas from Kiko's. Good Stuff!!! Oh, the good times that we have got to share with each other and looking forward to so much more....

Wustfest

This weekend we went to New Braunfels to visit my sister and go to Wurstfest. We dressed up Taylor and Lena as Knomes. They were a hit at Wurstfest, everyone stopped and took pictures of them. We had a great weekend, we also visited a the Three Dudes Winery in San Marcos and V and I went on the Wurst Motorcyle Run...which was acutally fantastic...couldn't have asked for better weather.

Lena's 6 months today!!! Crazy how time flies when you are being kept busy...constantly, but it's a good thing.Today I was going to start giving her some vegetables. I tried some squash and this was the reaction I got along with some shaking in disgust and gagging. We'll try again next feeding...
I am so glad they have short term memories!!!

Diabetes Walk

On Saturday morning we went and did the Walk for Diabetes. It was early and chilly, but it was great doing something good and getting to do it for and with my cousins, Amanda, V and Lena.Lena was so cute in her in little Nike sweatsuit all bundled up. She stayed awake the whole 4 miles. We are borrowing this jogger and it works great....we should use it more often!!

This is my new car!!!! It is so exciting to have a new vehicle. We traded in the truck and got a surburban. Vicente went and got it and I never even saw it, how crazy is that. I guess I trust him and he knows me. He said he couldn't pass up the deal on it because they were selling it used with 2000 miles, and it had everything; tv screens, sunroof, navigation and more. I am so thankful to my husband!

First Astros Game

We went to Houston and watched the Astros. They won one and lost one, but we had a great time. We met my family there. Here's me and my sister's, oh and Lena in the sling...this was handy this weekend. Of course we had to dress Taylor and Lena alike, they're wearing Hooks dresses though.

And I had to show this one, she was a hit with her sunglasses on. They actually fit her now. We walked to the game, so I put them on her.

5 Months

She's 5 months and she is all smiles and laughs now. It is so easy to get her to laugh, even the dogs playing she just cracks up, it's great to hear her...i'll try to post a video.

Lena likes her puppies

Lena definitely like her puppies and they are very tolerant and interested in her. Mosley likes to lay right next to her.She reaches out to touch them and the dogs don't know what to think of her, but they are calm and great with her. They do get a couple of licks in though, we just have to wipe her down when were done playing with the dogs.Ok, this was too funny...there was no manipulation with this action either. She is no longer stationary. We layed her down on this blanket in the middle of her room, she decided to roll off of it and rolled completely around it and in the meantime Mosley layed down on it. Well...she kept rolling and came upon a road block...he didn't move...but he put his arm around her. She was tugging on his other paw(trying to stick it in her mouth, EWW) and he just layed there. LOL We have read boxers are great with kids, CASE and POINT!!!

Just a Little Update

Well I know it has been awhile...but here are some new things happening with Lena. She now rolls over and then back.

Aunt Theresa came by the office for lunch and Lena got her first adjusment. We are so lucky to have a chiropractor in our family. She is amazing with her hands, she always makes me feel great. After her she gave her an adjustment she took a nap for like 2 hours. Need to go do those more often... Nanny is always cooking in the office and this day she was baking cookies. Lena reaches for everything now and then it goes straight into her mouth....I did catch her before she stuck the cookie in her mouth. Gotta keep an eye on my grandma...but does she look like she needs a cookie? I don't think so, she gettin plenty...

Oh, and she cannot keep her eyes off the TV. And she is addicted to football, just like her momma. If you try to turn her away she turns into an owl or Vicente tried to put his hand in front of her eyes and she just grabbed his hand and pushed it down out of the way...LOL She's gettin some personality....

Lena's 4 months now. I took her to the doctor on Friday for her shots and check up. She weighs 16.2 pounds and that puts her in the 90th percentile. She is 24 1/2 inches and that was in the 50th. She's still a cutie.The doctor told me to go ahead and start giving her 2 tsp. of rice cereal in the morning and night. This is our first encounter pictured below. I am concentrating trying to get some of it to stay in her mouth, but as you can see it is not working out too well. We'll keep trying and hopefully she'll get it down.

Lena's Baptism

On August 2 we baptized Lena. Everything was perfect, my sister and brother-in-law were Lena's godparents, she did fantastic during the whole mass(didn't hear a peep out of her when Father poured the water over here), and then everyone came over to the house afterwards for sandwich's and desserts. It was a great day filled with love from family and friends. Thanks to everyone who came and made the day so special.

We had all of the new additions all together in one place. How fun to have all of these babies within a couple of months. It makes occasions so much more interesting with everyone having new babies everywhere we go.

Vicente's mom brought this beautiful and delicious cake(I was told, since I don't eat cake) from a local bakery from Victoria that they have always gotten their cakes from.

Lena at the Frio River

We went to the Frio River this past weekend for my Mom's birthday, like we do every year, and it was Lena's first time. My sisters and some of my aunts and uncles went as well. Great family gathering. The crazy thing is that is rained on us everyday, who would have thought, haven't seen rain practically all year and for vacation, it rains. I know I should say thanks to any rain, but come on. We put Lena's feet in the water and she was not a happy camper. She definitely prefers to be warm and the cold water was not nice. Sorry baby girl, won't be doing that anymore. It made me sad to see her like this. But, we had fun the rest of the time. My sister had brought a canopy for shade for the babies and that worked out great, they took naps under there and even slept through some rain under it. Fun times, can't wait until next year. My mom also went all the way to dressing them alike all weekend from day wear... to church clothes...to the pj's. They were cute matching all weekend.When they woke up we tried to put there sunglasses on because it was pretty bright outside, but they wouldn't stay on there faces.Vicente even had fun swinging off of the rope they had at the watering hole we were hanging out at.Our first family trip to the Frio... I think she is still mad for us putting her feet in the water, poor baby does not look happy.

Lena at Martini Brick

Well I started back at work this month and I am bringing Lena to work with me. I guess this goes to show we don't get too much work with her here, but we definitely have fun with her. My mom got this chair for her from Babies R' Us yesterday and we just had to try it and she seems to love it. She's already following in my footsteps....

On Monday we went to the doctor for Lena's two month checkup. She got her shots and she was not happy about it. It was so sad when she was screaming her head off and later she definitely felt sore in her legs where the shots were given. Besides that everything was fine with her, good clean bill of health. All of her measurements were normal except for her weight. She was is the 90th percentile at 12.2 lbs. In the picture below you can definitely see why...

Father's Day and Taylor's Bartism

Father's Day Weekend we went to New Braunfels to visit Kim, Matt and Taylor. It was Taylor's Baptism also.
Amanda and Taylor at her Baptism. She is wearing the same dress that all of my sisters and I wore for our Baptism's and Lena will wear it for hers too. My great-grandmother made it for me and it is so neat that my Mom kept it so our kids could wear it.

We all went to Kingsville this past Saturday for the graduation party for Vicente's cousins Josh and Lucas. Josh graduated from West Point Academy and Lucas from Kingsville High School. We are very proud of both of them.

Before the party we all went to Welita's and Tiffany was taking pictures of Grady, so we watched as Tiffany did her thing. Vicente started taking pics of us as we looked on... it was such a pretty day outside and pictures definitely look better outside. Here are some of the pictures he took.

I was washing the sheets on my bed and needed to vacuum...that was getting difficult with her on my arm, so I laid her down on my bed and figured I would give her some tummytime. She fussed a little and next thing I knew she was passed out. I guess vacuuming with her in the womb paid off, she remembered and it calmed her down. Doesn't she look long? I can't beleive how big she is...time flies when a baby keeps you constantly busy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

She is trying to say something, one day she'll make since or do they ever...

One morning I came to get her and this how she was.... not in the same position I left her in. If you notice she was supposed to be in between the white thing in the other direction... I guess bad dream. I suppose I need to take everything out of her crib if she is moving around this much...CRAZY little lady!!!

I got her this new hat and I was showing her daddy and he wanted to take a picture with it. This is going to come in handy this summer. What a doll!!!

I got these cute little sunglasses for her, yes they are little too big but she'll grow into them soon. I put them on her to take her for a walk.

I decided to try out some of the equipment we had received at our showers, and this one works great. It vibrates and rocks, so far so good. I was able to change, get ready, and even eat with her in this. Too bad it looks like it swallows her, but that means she can grow into it and we can use for a long time. Awesome!!!

We finally decided to wash her and give her a good wipe down on 4/29 (can't give her a real bath until her umbilical cord falls off). But, I think she liked it, never even heard a peep out of her. After we washed her hair it spikes up now, it's crazy, I guess it definitely was time to be washed. What bad parents we are letting are child go with greasy hair. HEHE

Vicente does such a great job with her. He does everything he can with her when he is home. It definitely give me break. I couldn't have asked for a more supporting and loving husband.
And then she sleeps after her bath.

Just a Little Update

We are all doing pretty good so far. Lena is sleeping in 2 to 3 hour intervals during the day and sometimes 4 hours at night. We are crossing our fingers that this can continue. We try to sleep when she does, getting up in the middle of the night definitely takes a toll on you. But, we are learning as we go and enjoying every minute with her when she's awake and definitely when she is sleeping... Vicente has been a wonderful father and tremendous help with her. I think he changes more diapers than I do, he is better at diaper changing and swaddling her. I couldn't ask for a better husband. He stayed home for the first week and we were sad when he had to go back to work, I think he was sad too.

We have been to the doctor a couple of times already and she is gaining weight well, she should she eats enough it seems to me, but so far a clean bill of health and just trying to stay that way until we go in 6 weeks to get vaccinated.

We have ventured out though. We did make it to and through church with flying colors, thank goodness, we were on pins and needles the whole time though. And we did already go out to eat at Rudy's and she slept like a charm. We couldn't have asked for a more precious daughter and we can't wait for her to meet the rest of the world. I'll try to keep posting when I can...
